for a visit

I love airports, probably because I have such wonderful memories of them as a child. In my mind, airports are where you go to see people you love very much who have traveled a long way to see you because they love you very much.
There is something incredibly wonderful about standing outside a terminal and knowing that someone you love, someone you haven't seen in a very long time, is about to walk out of that airplane and straight into your arms.

There is also something incredibly wonderful about taking one of your favorite people to one of your favorite places to rest and read and drink coffee and catch up.

I'm having a blast with him.

  1. yes, it was great to see your ethiopian journey via photos! i'm glad we got in touch. it is so neat to find people with a common love for ethiopians and their culture. hopefully we will run into one another on another occasion in the near future. have a great week!

  2. Megan BoatwrightJuly 8, 2009 at 10:43 PM and I pretty much have the same childhood memories, but the only thing I remember about airports are the following: tupperware containers full of krispy kreme doughnuts; making Benjamin ask the stewardess if we're on the right plane; and finding out I wasn't the only 'Megan' on the planet during Father of the Bride Part II.

  3. ha! i remember you eating 6 donuts in the time it took me and mom to run to the bathroom and come back.
and you were definitely the only megan in france. america burst our bubbles in a few different ways...

  4. they need to professionally clean the couches at the roasteries. it's out-of-character nasty.
